Mr. Terry K. Woods

80, of Fishers, Indiana, beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at home Thursday morning, June 4, 2015. The fourth and youngest child in the family, he was born on December 4, 1934 in Lapel, Indiana to the late Halton (Dick) and Vivian Barker Woods. His oldest brother Julius (Jude) survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Dickie as well as sister Lorraine (Bainie) Mullendore. In October of 1955 Terry wed his beautiful bride, Phyllis Ann Orr of Castleton. They had nearly 60 happy years together. Terry and Phyllis hosted countless family gatherings and holidays. He loved to travel and enjoyed numerous family vacations. Special memories were made at the annual Hilton Head trip with dear friends; Elmer, Carol, Ed and Rosie. Terry was a masonry contractor in central Indiana for 50 years. Terry spent much time volunteering and supporting his children and grandchildren’s sports and music events. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping and spending time on the water. For 40 years he loved being part of a great Couple’s Card Club and recently playing monthly cards with his son and friends. Terry was active in Hamilton Southeastern Parent Booster Club. He ran the clock for HSE football games, a member of Castleton Volunteer Fire Department and Castleton Optimist Club. Terry’s family admired him for his giving nature, quiet confidence, wisdom and twinkle in his eye! In addition to his wife Phyllis and brother Jude, other survivors are four children and their spouses: Pam and Ron Carey; Greg and Kellie Woods; Bruce and Michelle Woods; and Brian and Annette Woods; ten wonderful grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two more on the way. Considered part of the immediate family are his brother and sister-in-laws, Mike Orr and Kathleen Barron and families, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday, June 9 at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel 9900 Allisonville Road, with visitation at 12:00p.m.-2:00p.m. and services at 2:00 p.m. Interment following service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
