Redith J. Tuttle

Redith Stanley Tuttle,83, passed away Saturday August 2nd. She was born October 12, 1924, in Patricksburg, IN to Gern and Clarissa (Fiscus) Beecher. Her formative years were spent in Tuscola, IL. As a young adult she moved to Indianapolis where she remained for the rest of her earthly life. After a few years working for a local insurance company she gained employment at the CPA firm George S. Olive. There she met her first husband, Paul S. Stanley, and they were married in 1952. Paul preceded her in death in 1979. To their marriage came two sons, Keith (Elaine) Stanley of St. Louis, Missouri and Dr. Kenneth Stanley of Indianapolis who preceded her in death in 2005. Other survivors include her grandchildren Paul (Sarah), Stephanie, Craig (Mandy), Hillary, and Meredith Stanley. Also surviving are her sisters Ruth Warren of Champaign Illinois and Ruby Romine of Point, Texas. In 1989, Redith fell in love with and married Glen Tuttle. Together they had 13 wonderful years together. They were inseparable. They were accused by some of acting like teenagers with their giddy like love. Together they made many trips visiting family and friends. One of their most prized trips was to Alaska. Glen predeceased her in 2002. Redith was an active member of Castleview Baptist Church. There she faithfully attended Sunday School and Worship. Redith was always a giving person preparing and taking food to those who struggled. At Castleview she supported missionaries by preparing care packages and other needed items. For the last two years of her earthly life, Redith made her home at Westminster Village North. There she became know as the �cookie lady� making cookies for her fellow residents and the staff. There was always something good to eat at Redith�s place. Her grandchildren came to know her fine baking skills as well. As they struggled to fend for themselves during their first few years away from home, she made sure they were well supplied with many care packages of cookies and her famous coffee cake. A memorial service for Redith will be held at Castleview Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug 9th, at 2:00 pm with a time for visitation starting prior to the service at 1:00 pm.
