Louise "Lou" Whitecavage

Louise Whitecavage, We celebrate the day of November 8, 2025 as the home-coming of Louise Whitecavage, known to friends and family as Lou, into the arms of Jesus her Lord and Savior. Lou was born January 14, 1940 in Worthington, Indiana. She was one of ten children born to Mabel Padgett and Theodore Roosevelt Padgett. Lou graduated from Worthington High School in 1958. Lou is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph B. Whitecavage; her biological daughter, Amydawn Wright; her step-daughter, Julia Salas; her beloved brother, Phil Padgett; and her sister, Judy Etherton. She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Laura Jo Brown; her parents; her sister, Anne Doyle; and her dear cat, Tonga, who have all gone on before her and welcomed Lou with open arms. Lou loved her Lord and received Him as her Savior in 1972 when her sister Anne shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with her to which she shared her salvation experience with her daughters who also became believers. She attended Northeast Baptist Church of Indianapolis under the pastoral care of Wendel Heller and his wife Betty whom she adored. Later the church would be renamed Colonial Hills Baptist Church. She volunteered in the nursery for several years and then later volunteered at a Pro-life clinic where she guided young women who were pregnant and needed help. Lou worked at an Indiana Bank for several years while raising her daughters, Laura Jo and Amydawn. Later she worked for an eye doctor and retired at age 75. Lou’s homegoing service will be held Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 8140 Union Chapel Road, Indianapolis, of which she was a member for over 50 years, with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place on November 17, 2025 at the chapel of Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
