Junella (nee Purtzer) Aldridge Fouch

Junella (nee Purtzer) Aldridge Fouch, 97, of Indianapolis, Indiana was called to her heavenly home Sunday, April 2, 2023. She was born January 27, 1926 in Evanston, Indiana to the late Alvin and Elenora (nee Wittman) Purtzer. Junella was a 1943 graduate of Troy High School, Evanston, Indiana. She married WWII Veteran, Robert Aldridge, May 30, 1948 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Evanston. Robert preceded her in death July 22, 1977. Junella retired from Civil Service at Fort Benjamin Harrison in August of 1987 after 30 years of service. On April 11, 1998, Junella married Keith Fouch in Trinity Lutheran Church, Indianapolis. They made their home in Kokomo, Indiana, and Keith preceded her in death February 24, 2012. Junella was very active in the Lutheran Church, holding offices in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Trinity Circle, Trinity Business Women’s Club, Trinity Finance Board, Golden Leaguers, and as a Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher. She also volunteered at the Lutheran Child and Family Services Sharing Place and at Community Hospital East. For numerous years she served as either President of Vice President of the Clay 49ers Purdue Extension Homemakers Association in Kokomo. Keith and Junella were members of the Indy B&B Square and Round Dance Club. They enjoyed traveling which included almost all of the European Countries as well as China, Mexico, Ireland and the United States. Visitation will be Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 8540 East 16th Street. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Junella is survived by her children, Bobbie June Aldridge, Aaron Ray Aldridge (Melanie), Robert Wayne Aldridge and Wanda Kay Johnson (Terry); daughter-in-law, Kyle Aldridge; grandchildren, Joe Blackburn, Alison Ray Kobler (Paul), Matthew Ray, Sarah Aldridge, Emily Aldridge, Casey (Caitlin) Aldridge, Bailey Larson (Andrew), Jessica Gammons (Kyle), Michael Johnson, Tyler Johnson and Adam Johnson; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Kobler, R.J. Gammons and Michael Gammons; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Una Sue Davis; son, Ivan Lee Aldridge; and brothers, Werner (Lou) and Clarence (Carolyn) Purtzer. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and/or LWML and/or Suburban Hospice. The family wishes to thank the staff of Springhurst Health Campus and Suburban Hospice for their compassion and care. Final arrangements and care are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel.
