Judith Ellen "Judy" Holland

Judith Ellen “Judy” Holland, 86, of New Palestine, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, with children and grandchildren by her side. Judy was born October 13, 1939, to Herbert and Alice (Davidson) Michelfelder. She was a 1957 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School. She later married Bernell Eugene Holland, with whom she built a life centered on family, love, and shared values. Judy lad a lifelong love of animals, especially cats, and found great joy and comfort in their companionship. While she always had her favorite cat by her side, she never neglected the family dog or the many outdoor cats she cared for over the years. In addition to her love of animals, Judy also enjoyed gardening. She took pride in growing a variety of vegetables and always made sure to include her favorite tomatoes – perfect for her beloved bacon and tomato sandwiches. Judy was very involved in her children’s activities. She was a scout and 4-H leader and could always be found sitting on the sideline at various sporting events. This carried through with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with their participation in marching band, choir, theater and various sports. She also loved attending Indiana Fever games and cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers. Judy was a realtor for nearly 40 years. Over the course of her career, she built lasting relationships and earned the trust of countless clients through her integrity, knowledge, and commitment. She took pride in helping families find homes and guiding them through some of life’s most important milestones. She earned many honors throughout her distinguished career, including being named Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of REALTORS® Eastern Division REALTOR® of the Year on more than one occasion – an acknowledgement of the respect she earned from her peers and her lasting contributions to the real estate profession. Judy will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the kindness she shared so freely. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Bernell Eugene Holland; and her sister, Norma Jean Brown. She is survived by her children, Karen (Jeff) Teach, Kathy (Joe) Monroe, Kris (Roger) Branch, and Kevin Holland; six grandchildren, Brad (Jessica) Teach, Heather (Kyle) Kulwicki, Jessica Carson, Josh Carson, Richard (Sonia) Teach, and David (Christina) Merlau; and 12 great-grandchildren, Liam, Emily, Athena, Lyla, Isaac, Ellie, Hunter, Owen, Khloe, Kingston, Aleksander and Cameron. Visitation will be Sunday, June 21, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 East Washington Street, with funeral services there Monday, June 22, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to P.A.W.S., 3141 W.
