Joyce Anne Flory

Joyce Anne Flory, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away May 11, 2016. She was born November 17, 1933 to the late John F. and Viola Paxton Gandall. Joyce was a 1952 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School. She married Dennis E. Flory, September 20, 1982, and was a perfect wife, mother and grandmother. Joyce was a faithful servant. She loved nurturing everything that grew; her flower garden, vegetable garden, children and grandchildren and their faith. She loved preparing a banquet and enjoyed the fellowship even more. Joyce was a 25 year member of Wallace Street Evangelical Church. Visitation will be today, Friday, May 13, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. with funeral services Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Dennis E. Flory; children, Charity Ann Flory, Sandra K. Thompson (Charles), Vicki Lynne Denton (Michael), Teresa Ann Short (David), Jim Autry Bradshaw and Carl Edward Bradshaw; brother, CSM Wilfred Edward Paxton, USMC, Ret. (Cece); grandchildren, Dusty Thompson, Charles Thompson, Steven Woodcock (Rachel), Michael Denton (Christina), Jeremy Denton (Heidi), Amanda Denton (Nick), Samantha Morales (Sergio), Destiny Denton, Crystal Bradshaw, James Bradshaw (Lindsey), Christine Martin, Denise Beckner (Danny), Carly Bradshaw (Jason), Stephanie Short, Richard Short, Rachel Short, David Short, Caleb Short, Rick Ward, Dustin Ward (Sydney), Tiffany Ward and Lacey Ward; great-grandchildren, Caleb Woodcock, Annie Woodcock, Alaina Denton, Chelsea McGuffey, Katie Curtis, Joseph Denton, Hailey Denton, Alexis Pasciak, Aline Morales, Aiden Clayton, Alyssa Clayton, Gabriel Morales, Kennedy Martin, Landry Pugh, Emberlynn Bradshaw, Austin Bradshaw, Abel Beckner, Isaias Moreno, Angela Moreno, Rudy Short, Joshua Short, Jonah Ward, Sophie Ward, Natalee Ward, Enoch Ward, Elijah Ward and Xury Ward; former daughter-in-law, Kimberly Dunn; and several nieces and nephews. Joyce’s first husband, Carl Autry Bradshaw, preceded her in death, October 22, 1973. Her stepfather, Jack Kirby; and daughter-in-law, Tracey Bradshaw, also preceded her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to Wallace Street Evangelical Church.
