Jessie Mary (Koers) White

Jessie Mary White, 57, of Indianapolis, passed away July 2, 2024. She was born August 13, 1966 to Vernon Francis, Sr. and Rosemary Alice (Pruitt) Koers. Jessie received her Associate’s Degree from IUPUI, her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from IU School of Medicine; and her Master’s Degree from the University of St. Francis School of Nursing. She was CCRN certified, ACLS certified, and ASIA certified. Jessie was a Senior Nurse Practitioner for IU Health Methodist, IU Health Saxony, IU Health Physicians, University Family Physicians and IU Health University. She received the Sigma Theta Tau Nurse Practitioner’s Award from Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine Institute. Jessie married Michael Joseph White March 17, 2009. She enjoyed spending time with her son, Nathan; long walks, shopping, paddleboarding, and spending time with family at the lake. Jessie was happy, beautiful, generous, caring, fun-loving, and big-hearted. She was a mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, friend and god-mother. Jessie was always comforting to her patients and always there for her loved ones. Visitation will be Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 East Washington Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 East 10th Street, with visitation one hour prior. Jessie is survived by her husband, Michael Joseph White; son, Nathan Patrick White; bonus daughter, Samantha Urankar; siblings, Vernon (Diane) Koers, Jr., Gregory (Rebecca) Koers, Keith (Vicki) Koers, and Kimberly (Michael Lehane) Koers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary (Scott) Curren, Colleen (Fred) Allgood, Patrick (Rhonda) White, Kathleen (Mark) Foley, Maureen (Michael) Battles, Kevin (Amy) White, and Sean (Stephanie) White, Kelly White, Brian (Courtney) White, Thomas (Andrea) White, and Ann (Chris) Land; goddaughter, Faith White; godson, Brian Koers; several nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Cynthia Koers and Catherine Wenzler; and in-laws, Leo F. and Kathleen “Katie” White.
