Daniel Thomas Zack

Dan Zack, of Indianapolis, passed away December 7, 2022. He was born July 23, 1951 and is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lisa Zack; sons, Marc (Sarah) Zack, and Greg (Ava) Zack; his mother, Joyce Zack; brother, David Zack; sisters, Diane Heaton, and Deborah (Geraldo) Zack. Dan also is survived by his wonderful grandchildren, John, Emily, Ignatius, and Caden. Dan graduated from John Marshall High School in 1969 and went on to Ball State University where he met his wife, Lisa, the second weekend of his freshman year. Four years later in 1973 they were married. Dan and Lisa were looking forward to celebrating their 50th anniversary on June 9th. Dan’s career encompassed being a district manager for Keebler Cookies, he then accepted a position with Hanes Corporation, where he worked for ~20 years as a Key Account Manager. Dan loved sales, made many long-lasting friendships and was well respected by his co-workers and customers. Despite traveling endless miles for work, Dan always found time for family and never missed kids activities or family get-togethers. He enjoyed golf, watching kids sports, and music. Above all else he was a husband and a father that his sons strive to be; dependable, loyal, fun, firm, and loving. As a grandfather, Dan took pride in watching his sons become fathers and spending time with the grandkids that could never do wrong. He enjoyed watching the older grandchildren play hockey, basketball, and volleyball, and never wanted to miss a game. He looked forward to facetime calls from his grandchildren who live out west. As the weekly calls came in, he dropped whatever he was doing to have fun and laugh with his youngest grandchildren. Beyond family, Dan enjoyed sports. He loved the Green Bay Packers since he was a young child and never missed a game on television. Dan was known for his ability to talk to anyone and was always willing to tell anyone who would listen how good the Packers would be in the upcoming season. He also watched the Carolina Hurricanes, St. Louis Blues and the San Jose Sharks. In retirement, Dan played golf at least 3 times a week and was looking forward to traveling and spending time with Lisa. He valued nothing more than family and friendships. Dan had a personality, sense of humor, and devotion to family that will never be forgotten. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dan's life Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN.
