March 15, 1937 - May 12, 2022
William “Darris” Massey, 85, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on May 12th, 2022. He was born on March 15th, 1937 in Edmondson County, Kentucky to the late James Melvin Massey and Alta Mae (Cardwell) Massey. He had recently made a profession of faith in Christ, followed in believer's baptism and became a member of Burge Terrace Baptist Church. At the annual Massey Reunion, he enjoyed playing horseshoes and corn hole. He was also Head Supervisor and a major supporter of his sons, Dwain, Willie and grandson, Duke, during the summer demolition derby season. Visitation will be Sunday, May 15th, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Monday, May 16th, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 East Washington Street. Rev. Todd Curtis, Lead Pastor at Burge Terrace Baptist Church is to officiate. Burial services will be held at Acton Cemetery.
