    William "Bill" B. Meyer

    October 7, 1928 - May 17, 2022

William B. Meyer, Age 93, passed away May 17, 2022. He was born October 7, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Delbert B. and Mabel Spires Meyer. Bill was an Eagle Scout and a graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School. He graduated from Indiana University in 1949. Upon graduation he was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company until entering the U.S. Army in 1950, serving until 1952 during the Korean War. After leaving the Army, he established the Irvington Plaza Laundromat & Cleaners which he owned and operated for 32 years. After selling the business in 1989 William moved to Glasgow, Kentucky to be near his “adopted son and daughter-in-law”, Terry and Patricia Watson. Bill loved his life in Kentucky. He also enjoyed building puzzles, creating beautiful flower beds, loving his two cats, gardening and working on his stamp collection. Bill was a devoted Christian; a member of Grace Baptist Church, Glasgow, Kentucky and a former member of Irvington United Methodist Church, Indianapolis. Visitation will be Friday, May 20, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow, Kentucky. A second visitation will be held Monday, May 23, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana. Bill is survived by his nieces and nephews, Stephen Konrad, James Konrad (Pam Errandi), Christine McGrath (Michael) and F. Rexford Smith II; along with quite a few great and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Suzanne Konrad; his older sister, Joan M. Smith, both of Indianapolis; and two nephews, David Bernard Smith and Gregory Scott Smith. Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to Grace Baptist Church, Glasgow, Kentucky and/or Irvington United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana.
