Robyn M. (Gibson) Curtis

Robyn M. (Gibson) Curtis, MHA MSN RN CNOR November 8, 1955-May 7, 2022 Registered Nurse, educator, beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother has died, age 66. Robyn was a fan of Chicago Cubs baseball and Notre Dame football, a lover of animals, especially dogs and monkeys, an experienced cook, always ready to try new recipes, and enjoyed jazz in general and the music of Steely Dan and Leonid and Friends in particular. After attending John H. Vohr Elementary and Horace Mann High School in her native Gary, Indiana, Robyn graduated from Merrillville High School, Merrillville, Indiana in 1973. She then continued her studies, earning undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University, University of St. Francis (Joliet, Illinois), University of Southern Indiana, and Grand Canyon University. Starting as a hospital volunteer at age 15, Robyn began her professional nursing career in 1977 and continued for the next 45 years as an RN dedicated to patient care and safety in surgery and other units, and most recently as Director of Simulation at Fortis College, Indianapolis. Robyn was the daughter of James and Martha Gibson who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; children, Madeline (Lance) Duncan, Leslie (Jon) Redfern, James (Thea Atwood) Curtis and Mark Curtis; and grandchildren, Colin, Maria, Chloe, and Calliope. A gathering of friends will take place Monday, May 23, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the prayer service at 6:00 P.M. (EDT) at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN, with a graveside service and interment the following day, May 24, 2022 at 12 noon (CDT) at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.
