Bob was a longtime member of Faith Presbyterian Church. He was also a lifetime member of the National Education Association and the Indiana State Teachers Association. Bob was an amazing and selfless father, grandfather, teacher and friend. His sense of humor, generous spirit and love of life was contagious to all that knew him. We will miss his positive attitude, his 3 beer-chicken and smiling face with his “go to hell” hat on his head! A Celebration of Bob's life will take place Friday, May 14, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church, 8170 Hague Road, with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence Township School Foundation Band Program at www.MSDLTF.org (please add “Bob Meyer” in the comments) and/or Faith Presbyterian Church, 8170 Hague Road, Indianapolis, IN 46256. “The leader of the band is tired, and his eyes are growing old. But his blood runs through my instrument, and his song is in my soul. My life has been a poor attempt, to imitate the man. I’m just a living legacy to the leader of the band.” A Service of Witness to the Resurrection for Bob Meyer will be held Friday, May 14, 2021, at 12:30 PM at Faith Presbyterian Church. Visitation will take place at 11:30 AM. Masks must be worn and social distancing maintained for the safety of all. The service of worship will also be live streamed on Faith's website and Facebook Page. Bob was a musician and music teacher, who is remembered fondly by his many students. He shared his musical abilities generously with the congregation of Faith Presbyterian Church, where he and his wife, Janice, were married and deeply involved. Our prayers surround Janice and their children as they grieve the loss of husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
