Richard "Dick" W. Bacon Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

80, of Fishers, passed away July 14, 2022. He was born December 5, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Richard Walter Bacon and Nellie Bateman Bacon. Dick was a graduate of Howe High School and proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He married the love of his life, Karen Kay Fitch and enjoyed building a life and family together. He was always active in his children’s sporting events and programs. Dick was an industrial electrician with International Harvester/Navistar for over 35 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Indy Hiking Club and a past president of UAW Local 226. Dick enjoyed traveling and taking cruises, country line-dancing, collecting beer cans, hunting and enjoyed playing Texas Hold’em and played in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in 2019. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 East Washington Street, Indianapolis. A service will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel with visitation one hour prior. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Karen Bacon; children, Gary Bacon (Sandy), Pam Bacon, Rick Bacon (Jennifer) and Mark Bacon (Tara); grandchildren, Brittany Klooster, Cameron, Ally, Ava, Griffin, Sydney and Alaina Bacon; sisters, Carolyn Hetzler, Susan Hill (George) and Joyce Massey (Ken). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dick’s honor to the Wounded Warriors Project.
