    Rev. Lawrence W. "Larry" Cox

    February 26, 1947 - February 27, 2022

Rev. Lawrence W. “Larry” Cox, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully with family surrounding him and went to be with his Lord and Savior, February 27, 2022. He was born February 26, 1947 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Lawrence H. and Alice Aline Johnson Cox. Larry was a 1965 graduate of Decatur Central High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as helicopter medic in Germany. He married Debrah S. Bradburn March 21, 1981 and was an Assistant Pastor for Westside Apostolic Church. Larry was also employed as a driver for Shirley Brothers Mortuaries for many years. Larry was a longtime member of Westside Apostolic Church where he led Wednesday morning bible studies and was also a Sunday school teacher. He was a licensed minister for UPCI. Larry was well known for his kindness, and he never met a stranger, you were instantly his friend. He had an undeniable calling to teach with passion God’s Word. He loved reading the Bible, preaching, teaching Bible studies & playing his trumpet. He enjoyed every year, and every hour that the Lord gave him. Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Westside Apostolic Church, 1540 W. Ohio Street, Indianapolis. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Debrah S. Cox; devoted children, Anthony W. Cox, Cammie A. Ginski, Chad M. Cox, Jason H. Berkholz (Kelly) and Eric A. Cox; grandchildren, Broderick Cox (Courtney), Dalton Cox, Ciara Cox, Natalie Ginski, Alexandra Ginski, Kaitlin Sparling (Elijah), Joel Berkholz, Josiah Berkholz, Gracie Joy Berkholz and Jedidiah Berkholz; and great-grandchildren, Grayson and Brady. A sister, Karen Grey; and a brother, Harold Cox, preceded him in death. “Who is like our God!” - Larry Cox “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed…” Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh grave, where is our victory? 1 Corinthians 15:51-55 Final care and arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel.
