Renna Mae “Susie” Doyle, 90, of Fishers, passed away March 5, 2022. She was born March 26, 1931, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Oscar Leon Essick and Anna Mae Swineford (Hodges). Renna attended Warren Central High School and graduated from Manual High School. She worked at L S Ayres before her marriage and part-time at RCA and in Airplane Parts Manufacturing after her children were older. Renna was a woman of faith and liked to say “God is good”. She and her husband, Paul, contributed numerous hours to the ministry at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist, providing meals to others in times of need. Renna was a youthful person. She had style and an eye for decorating. She kept a beautiful home and lived there independently until the end. Those who knew her will tell you she was one of the strongest women you will ever meet. Renna was a wonderful cook and a master baker of birthday cakes. Her hobbies included camping, shopping, thrifting, antiquing, playing games, going to movies and dining out. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She was also an enthusiastic Pacers fan. Most of all, Renna was a dedicated wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma She was her loved ones’ guiding light and she always put others first. She had a passion for life and enjoyed the beauty of living life surrounded by those she loved. She was comforted in knowing she would reunite in heaven with Paul. And in a nod to her sense of humor, you should know that Diet Sunkist stock will be suffering a huge loss this year as well. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN 46038. Renna is survived by her daughters, Paula Ealy (Steve), Sharon Hughes (Bob) and Teresa “Terri” Davis (Dean); grandchildren, Kelly Hauss (Mark), Paul Ealy (Michelle), Rob Hughes (Jodi), Patrick Hughes (Chelsea) and Colleen Davis; brother, George “Buddy” Swineford, and 10 great grandchildren. Renna is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Paul Doyle; brothers, Harry Essick, Roy Swineford; sisters, Ruby Blacketer, Vera Blacketer, Niliah Sullivan and Georgia Childers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Hamilton County, PO Box 324, Noblesville, IN 46061-0324. Final care and arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel.
