R. Jean Toombs Blansette Cruger

87, was born September 10, 1934 to James and Scharlotta Lydia (Jackie) Toombs in Indianapolis, Indiana. She passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Jean went to Broad Ripple High School and Butler University for Sociology. She was also a member of the North United Methodist Church. Jean had many positions during her career as an employee and volunteer. In Indianapolis, she was a real estate agent and broker. She also worked at Indiana Bell for many years before retiring and moving to Bradenton, Florida. During her time in Florida, Jean was a real estate agent, and she became a child advocate (also known as Guardian ad Litem). When Jean was not working, she spent her time with her friends in the garden club. She was very involved in every community that she was a part of. In 2017, Jean moved back to Indiana to be closer to her grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers, Indiana 46038. Jean’s family includes Polly (her sister) and Michael McQuillen, her sons Bradley, Kenneth, and Stephe (wife Stacey) Blansette, and her five grandchildren Ilsa, Alexander, Joseph, Sagan, and Benjamin Blansette. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, George Toombs; first husband, Forrest Blansette; and second husband, Kenneth Cruger. A mother that has taught us the true understanding of blind love for her children. She has given everything of herself and was concerned that she had not done enough.
