Queen E. Chestang passed away March 4, 2022. She was born March 18, 1944 in Linden, Alabama to the late Ivory and Julia Richardson. Later in life she moved to Detroit, MI where she met and married the love of her life John Chestang in 1967, to this union one child was born, Veronica Chestang. Queen served faithfully on the Mother’s Board at Leland M.B. Church until uniting with New Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Wallace R. Mills, Jr. where she continued to serve on the Mother’s Board. In 2014 Queen and her daughter relocated to Indiana where she united with Eastern Star Church with Pastor J. A. Johnson, Jr. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers. She cherishes and leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: John Chestang, her siblings: Ivory Richardson, Jr., Robert Richardson, Lawrence Richardson, James Terry, Jessie Miller, Ellen Terry, and Lillie McConnico.
