Philip E. Brown

Philip E. Brown, 92, of La Port, Texas, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully April 20, 2024. He was born January 17, 1932 in Bloomington, Indiana to the late Lawrence Austin and Margaret Frye Brown. Philip was a graduate of Bloomington High School. He married Norma J. Clemens, August 10, 1950, and she preceded him in death August 7, 1994. He then married Nellie “Ruth” Baldwin, June 3, 1996. Philip was a lathe operator for Allison Transmission for 38 years. He also was the owner of Valley Estate Realty on the southwest side of Indianapolis for many years. Philip was a longtime member of Calvary Tabernacle. Visitation will be Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, April 26, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Tabernacle, 902 Fletcher Avenue. Philip is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Brown; devoted sons, Philip L. Brown (Pamela), Danny R. Brown (Debi), Terry L. Brown (Joyce), and Randy S. Brown (Debbie); stepsons, Mack Baldwin (Nidya) and Phillip Baldwin (Anita); brother, Ross Brown; sisters, Martha Pedro (Rev. Neal) and Ruth Lois Clemens (Albert); grandchildren, Shelly Bowman (Mike), Craig Brown (Steffanie), Brent Brown (Janene), Amber Littell (Chad), Erin Seacat, Brittney Howard (Brett), Taylor Wood, Tony Brown, Jordan Hammans (Ryan Noland), Elijah Hammans (Laura), Jason Brown, and Erin Carpenter (Sean); and six step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Ashlee Littell, Jaynee Littell, Brayden Littell, Kynzee Littell, Dexter Seacat, Elsie Seacat, Krysten Rasnic (David), Mariah Wood (Dave), Trey Crews, Koby Brown, Harper Brown, Gracelyn Brown, Ryke Brown, Morgan Brown, Brooklyn McGrath (Christopher), Dietrich Brown, Ethan Brown, Malachi Brown, Solomon Brown, Scarlett Carpenter, Kennedy Hammans, Riis Hammans, Cash Noland, Leo Noland, Nehemiah Brown, Isabella Brown, Kennedy Brown, and Kaleb Brown; and great-great-grandchildren, Beau Davis, Vera Davis, Keegan Rasnic, Addyson Rasnic, Beckham Wood, Brixton Wood and six step-great-grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, and Kent Brown. Final care and arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel.
