    Nancy Sue Haffey Pryor

    October 26, 1949 - January 27, 2022

    Nancy Sue Haffey Pryor, 72, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 27, 2022. She was born October 26, 1949 to the late Harold and Marguerite Haffey of Canal Winchester, Ohio. Mrs. Pryor enjoyed teaching and sharing her love of music. She was a music teacher in Ohio for four years before coming to Indiana and teaching at Bethesda Christian Schools, Indianapolis Public Schools in the Music Magnet Program and privately. She played trumpet in the Springfield Symphony, Newark Symphony in Ohio, Indianapolis Philharmonic, Butler Symphony Orchestra and the Indianapolis Brass Choir in Indiana. Mrs. Pryor attended Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Ohio State University, Cedarville University and Butler University. Mrs. Pryor belonged to Indianapolis Piano Teachers Association, Indiana and National Federation of Music Clubs, was the coordinator for the Indiana State Fair Band Day, adjudicator for ISSMA, CYO, Music Federation and Talents for Christ. She was very active in church music playing trumpet and flugelhorn. She also played TAPS for military services as well as the Vietnam Moving War Memorial Wall. Mrs. Pryor is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Larry D. Pryor; son, Steven A. Pryor; grandsons, Isaac and Harrison; and their mother, Deanna; brothers, Dr. David (Debby) and Dr. Daniel (Rachel) Haffey; and sister, Judith (Jay) Jackson. Visitation will be Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Church, 9125 North College Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46240. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Missionary Church for missionaries. Final arrangements and care are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel.
