    Lydia E. Dickenson

    September 18, 1926 - January 24, 2022

    Lydia E. Dickenson, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away January 24, 2022. She was born September 18, 1926, in Maywood, Indiana, to the late Albert McCray and Mae Krebs McCray. Lydia was a ’44 graduate of Shortridge High School. She worked as a secretary in Ft. Benjamin Harrison Finance Center. Lydia (Tub) was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her kind heart knew no bounds. She held immense compassion for people and animals alike. You could always count on her to be there. She was everyone’s Grandma Tub and will sorely missed by many. Lydia is survived by her grandchildren Denisa (Rob) McIntyre, John (Trina) Apple, Tammi Hillman, Jacob (Mallorie) Lawson, Holly Lawson, Hayley (Nick) Lawson, great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Jim Dickenson and her children, Larry Denton, Donna Hillman and Christie Lawson. There will be a private celebration of life at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Mortuaries and Crematory.
