Lloyd Wayne Rees Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lloyd Wayne Rees, 55, of Indianapolis, passed away July 8, 2022, after a brave and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He will forever be missed as a loving husband, devoted father, beloved brother, caring uncle, and loyal friend. Lloyd was born February 4, 1967, in Indianapolis, to Alfred Ulis Rees and Anna Rosemary Deal, who both preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Brian Raines, James “Jimmy” Rees and Joseph “Joey” Benton; and brother-in-law, Thomas “Tommy” Blankenship. Lloyd never met a stranger wherever he went and made a lot of friends throughout his life. He was a skilled carpenter, working in various jobs throughout the years. He loved all things racing, especially the Indianapolis 500. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan; he loved to hunt, fish, cook, play poker on Saturday nights, and being with family and friends. Lloyd leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Lisa Rees; daughter, Brooke (Josh) Sturgeon; and his two dogs, Sadie and Zena. He is also survived by his sisters, Diana Raines and Linda Rees; and brothers, Paul Raines and Thomas (Charlene) Rees; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who he loved dearly. His larger than life character, humor, loud mouth, and friendship will be missed by all who knew him. Please hug your loved ones a little tighter in his memory. Visitation will be Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel, 3333 East Thompson Road. The family asks, if you have any racing or Dallas Cowboys attire, please wear it in his honor to the service.
