John T. Taylor Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

89, of Greenfield, passed away July 5, 2014. He was born April 28, 1925 in Indianapolis to the late John T. and Helen Craine Taylor. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII as an Aviation Radioman and married Jenny M. Rowe March 28, 1947. John was employed as a printer/engraver with George F. Cram Co. for 31 years, retiring in 1978 and was a Broker for Carpenter Real Estate for 10 years. He was a member of Old Bethel U.M.C., served as past commander for the American Legion Irvington Post #38 and Color Guard. John was a member of the Warren Township School Board for 16 years, the Indiana State School Board Assoc. for many years and on the Planning Committee of the current Warren Central High School. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. with funeral services Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Old Bethel United Methodist Church, 7995 E. 21st Street. John is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jenny M. Rowe Taylor; children, John A. Taylor (Clydeen), Nancy S. Stanek (Steven) and Cheryl A. Hinkle (Bruce); brother, Paul L. Taylor (Martha); 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Old Bethel United Methodist Church.
