    Jerry L. Williams

    October 14, 1934 - January 30, 2022

    Jerry L. Williams, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away January 30, 2022. He was born October 14, 1934 in Mitchell, Indiana to the late Lloyd and Leola Smith Williams. Jerry was a 1953 graduate of Mitchell High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for two years where he served as an aide to General William Westmoreland. Jerry married Eva “Joann” Carter, July 8, 1955, and she preceded him in death July 4, 2011. Jerry was employed for 35 years with The Associates Financial Services which then merged with CitiBank, shortly before his retiring October 12, 2001. He was a former member of 1st Christian Church and Mitchell Church of Christ, and a current member of Eastside Church of Christ in Indianapolis. Visitation will be Friday, February 11, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Gary Coles, Pastor of Eastside Church of Christ, at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 East Washington Street. Graveside services with Military Rites will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Mitchell Cemetery, Mitchell, Indiana. Jerry is survived by his loving son, Gary L. Williams (Cheryl); granddaughter, Megan Seal; sister, Kathy E. Quarles (Edward); nieces, Cheryl A. Wickham (Mark) and Pamela F. Binge; nephews, William P. Lynch, Rocky D. Quarles (Michelle) and Brandon C. Quarles (Kyria); great-nephews, Cooper J., Chandler J. and Caleb A. Quarles, Dustin and Brian Binge and Andrew Wickham; great-nieces, Carly Bromley, Taira Lynch, Keisha Klein, and Hannah Wickham; and great-great-niece, Zoe Klein. Jerry was preceded in death by his infant son, Randy Scott Williams; brother, William A. Lynch; and nephews, Jason A. Quarles, and Stephen B. Lynch.
