James P. Williams

James P. Williams, 94, of Fishers, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away January 9, 2022. He was born August 3, 1927 in Indianapolis to the late James E. and Thelma I. Lepper Williams. Jim was a 1945 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and attended Indiana University. Jim married Martha Jean Jackson, January 8, 1949 and she preceded him in death January 31, 2020. He was employed with the American Postal Workers Union Local #130 for 31 years, holding the position of President in 1963, National Vice President for Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky in 1966 and Central Regional Coordinator in 1972, retiring in 1997. Jim was a member of Life Connections Church in Fishers, a 58 year member of the Center Masonic Lodge #23, F. & A.M., and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Jim is survived by sisters-in-law, Sharon J. Williams and Brenda S. Coffey (James); two nephews, David Williams (Sherri) and C. Todd Williams (Lillian Faulstich); niece, Carrie L. Bryan (Steve); great-nieces, Macey Ellis (Brendan), Kaitlyn Losh (Chris), Cayce Gruner (Marcus), Brittany Moulder (Madison), Poppy Moulder; great-nephews, Paul A. Williams and Peyton A. Williams; great-great-nephew, Parker Ellis; and great-great nieces, Elizabeth K. Ellis and Natalie Gruner; and many extended family members. His two brothers, Paul and Phillip Williams, preceded him in death.
