Donald R. Higgs

December 15, 1953 - April 21, 2022

Donald R. Higgs, 68, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, peacefully passed away April 21, 2022 with his children and family at his side. Don was born December 15, 1953 to the late Donald E. and Anna Margaret (Day) Higgs. Don was a graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis (’72) where he made lifelong friendships. He recently retired from Modular Devices, Inc., after working as a Compliance Director for many years. Don was as funny as he was charming, a true friend to anyone who spent time with him. He enjoyed fishing and camping. Don was a fantastic cook who also liked to work in his garden. His beloved dog Buddy was his constant companion wherever he went, and his children and grandchildren were his greatest treasure. A time to Gather & Remember will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Eulogy Celebration time from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Friends and Family are welcomed. Don is survived by his children, Ben Higgs (Nikki) and their sons Nathan and Owen, Emily Higgs (Greg Smith) and their sons Britton and Ethan, and Kelsey (J.R.) Connor and their children Castella and Cruz; sisters, Cindy Krebs and Deborah Query; five nieces and nephews; and countless cousins and friends.
