Dale W. Laumeyer

January 2, 1939 - December 25, 2020

Dale W. Laumeyer, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away December 25, 2020. He was born January 2, 1939 in Hammond, Indiana to the late William F. and Frances Laumeyer. Dale was a graduate of Lowell High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and attended Indiana University. Dale married Georgia L. Dickerson, July 9, 1960, and was employed with Boehringer Manheim now known as Roche Diagnostics for many years. He was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church where he was the head of the Board of Christian Education. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Georgia L. Laummeyer; children, Brian M. Laumeyer (JinSuk), Sherri K. Long (Michael), Julie L. Hood (Todd), Cindy L. Alexander (Rex) and Melissa L. Roddy (John); grandchildren, Danelle Cobb (Jeremy), Christopher B. Laumeyer, David L. Laumeyer (Tiffany), Holly Wright (Chris), Dustin Long (Krista), Cody Long (Sarah), Matthew S. Hood, Jacob Alexander, Zachary B. Alexander, Sarah K. Alexander and Samantha M. Gregory (Kollin); seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Sara Haniford (Clyde), Rick Laumeyer (Julie) and Tom Laumeyer (Jean). A grandson, Daniel T. Hood; brother, Chuck Laumeyer; and three sisters, Kay Sampson, Beth Carlson and Helen Laumeyer, preceded him in death. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Final care and arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel.
