    Cecil McClain Higginbotham

    September 11, 1921 - March 19, 2022

    Cecil McClain Higginbotham, 100, of Fishers, Indiana passed away peacefully on March 19, 2022. He was born September 11, 1921 to the late Oscar and Eura Higginbotham of Burkesville, Kentucky. Cecil served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. In 1950 he married Elizabeth (Betty) Belle Moffitt, who preceded him in death in August 2014. Cecil retired from the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors in 1980 and was a former 50-year member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. Cecil was an avid fisherman, woodworker, bridge player and bowler and he was a member of Brookside Masonic Lodge 720 F. & A. M. for 35 years. Cecil is survived by his three daughters, Carol (Ben) Zeek, Susan (Gene Murray) Higginbotham and Nancy (Bob) Hoff; brother, Bobby Higginbotham; sister, Jesse Crutchfield; grandchildren, Ben (Amanda), David (Megan) and Jason (Caitie) Hoff, Jennifer (Erik) Zeek, Beth O’Meara and Abigail Zeek; and great-grandchildren, Maxine, Walter, Adeline, Mia and Griffin Hoff, and Tyler and Maggie O’Meara; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Thank you to the wonderful staff of Hamilton Trace for their loving and supportive care. Arrangements are private and entrusted to Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel.
