Alyce LaVonne Pfenning

Alyce LaVonne Pfenning, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away June 13, 2022. She was born July 20, 1948 in Lima, Ohio to the late John “Jack” and Margaret “Margie” McGuire. Alyce began her career as a machinist for Airfoil Textron Inc., then with Rolls Royce for 27 years, retiring in 2018. She married Gary Pfenning, and he preceded her in death May 4, 2018. Alyce was a member of the American Legion and Women of the Moose. She was an avid bowler playing in many leagues in the Indianapolis area. Visitation will be Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel, 3333 East Thompson Road. Alyce is survived by her son, Wade (Daisy) Rhinock; grandchildren, Phoebe, Emma and Chael Rhinock; siblings, Linda Manuel, Rick (Cheryl) McGuire, David (Debbie) McGuire, Cindy (Kenneth) Herber, Bill (Helen) McGuire, Randy McGuire and Marie “Sam” (Marsha) McGuire; special friends, Ashley and Justin Rooney and Brenda Patterson; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog “Sassy”. Alyce was preceded in death by her grandmother, Marie Crider; and in-laws, John Manuel and Lou Ann McGuire. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and/or the American Cancer Society and/or the American Heart Association.
