Patricia Ann Hill

Long time resident of Waukegan, Illinois, and recently Greenwood, Indiana, went to be with our Lord on December 31, 2010 at Franklin United Methodist Home in Franklin, Indiana. Born in 1935 in Chicago, IL, Pat received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from University of Illinois in 1958, and a Masters in Education from Carthage College in 1983. Pat studied acting in London and was a long time member of Mensa. Pat taught music and 2nd Grade in Waukegan, IL from 1975, until her retirement in 1989. After her children and grandchildren, Pat�s great loves were music and theatre. She enjoyed performing professionally in opera, regional theatre and film, as well as participating in many community theatre productions. Her musical achievements included performance with the Augusta Opera (August, GA); Meadowbrook Theatre Company (Oakland, MI); and at Carnegie Hall in New York. In spite of her declining health, she maintained an independent life until recently. In her retirement, Pat spent her days reading, enjoying time with her grandchildren, doting on her cat, and committing her life to an ever increasing devotion to Jesus Christ. She became Catholic in 2000. In 2002, she moved with her daughter from Illinois to Greenwood, Indiana, where she lived until her death. Pat is survived by her brother, Skip Robinson; her daughter, Kathleen (Hill) Phipps (Alan Phipps); her sons, Mark Hill (Susan Carpenter) and Rob Hill (Colleen Burke); and six grandchildren, Andrew Hill, Ian Phipps, Kaitlyn Hill, Nathan Phipps, Hannah Phipps, and Maura Phipps. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chauncey and Daisy Belle (Billie) Robinson. Francis and Clare Church, 5901 Olive Branch Rd., Greenwood, IN 46143. Visitation will be held Friday, January 7, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ss. Francis and Clare Church. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Shirley Brothers Mortuaries.
