Mark G. Hancock

Mark G. Hancock, 59, of Fishers, passed away after a long illness June 25, 2018. He was born in Fort Wayne to the late Richard “Chip” and Arlene Hancock. As a young child, the family moved to Indianapolis where Mark grew up and spent the rest of his life. He was a graduate of North Central High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in business from Ball State University where he was a member of Theta Xi fraternity. Mark then followed in his father’s footsteps with a career lasting over 31 years with AIL. He became a state general agent with a flourishing business in which he received many awards and recognition for his success. Mark became an expert golfer, with a passion only a few could admire. Not only did he play every course in town, but traveled the country to play on renowned golf courses. Football was an obsession and Mark was a season ticket holder since the Baltimore Colts came to town in 1984. In later years, his football buddy was his daughter, Ali – they never missed a game and attended one Colts Super Bowl game in Miami together. Not many people experience a “fly-in and drop” fishing experience in Canada; however, Mark was lucky enough to do it many times with the same group of great friends. Around the time of 2003, Mark got into the Harley Davidson craze and purchased an Anniversary Black Fat Boy and later a Colts blue Ultra Classic. He traveled the country on his Harley, however, at home, his only ride-a-long to charity rides or on Sunday afternoons was Ali. Mark attended the last 54 years of the Indy 500 – his last this past May was also with his side-kick, Ali. All in all, Mark loved life even until the end; with all his obstacles, he never gave up. Mark is survived by his wife of 24 years, Becky Hancock; daughter, Ali (Alscabals); brother, Vic Hancock; and many life-long friends.
