Leroy Harlow

Leroy Harlow, 93, of Nineveh, passed away July 26, 2026. Born in 1932 in Paoli, Indiana, he was the son of Jesse and Maude Pinnick Harlow. He was raised on a farm with his ten siblings, where he learned the value of hard work, humility, and perseverance. Leroy served in the U.S. Army and later worked as a supervisor at AT&T, retiring in 1987. His life was grounded in faith, family, and country. Leroy and his first wife, Sandra (Mann) Harlow, owned and operated Sandy’s Flowers & Gifts in Wanamaker, Indiana, for 25 years. He supported her in the business, and they shared 41 years of marriage until her passing on November 24, 2002. A man of faith, Leroy was a 35-year member of Indian Creek Christian Church (The Creek) and a member of the Lions Club in Wanamaker. On March 13, 2004, he married his second wife, Patricia Manley Kemp. They shared 12 years together until her passing on April 6, 2016, and enjoyed travel, family time, and life’s simple pleasures. Leroy enjoyed carpentry, home building, following the stock market, traveling, and most of all, time with family and friends. His faith remained central throughout his life. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 12 noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 East Washington Street. Leroy is survived by his daughters, Cecily (Steve) Embree and Cindy (Tom) Speth; his sister, Victoria Bentley; his grandchildren, Cody Hall, Casey (Derek) Taylor, Brandon (Valerie) Speth, Cianna (Chase) Clark, and Camden Speth; and his great-grandchildren, Colton, Elaina, Emersyn, Breelyn, Emma, Cohen, Jaylyn, Berkley and Bryson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two wives, Sandra and Patricia; his brothers, Harry, Walter, Casgar, Odas, and Bill Harlow; and his sisters, Maudie Ingle, Grace Bradfield, June Wiseman, and Audrey Conway. Leroy will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady faith, and deep devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
