Kathleen "Kathy" G. Hoge

Kathleen G. Hoge, 98, was peacefully received into the arms of her Lord and Savior on March 15, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kathy was born on February 11, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Alva and Carmen (Snavely) Broadfoot. She was baptized on October 17, 1926 at Lafayette Methodist Church in St. Louis. In 1940, she confirmed her faith at Christ Lutheran Church in Webster Groves, Missouri. Kathy was unwavering in her faith and those who knew her understood she was the epitome of Proverbs 31:29. She married J. Kennett “Ken” Hoge on January 10, 1948 at Christ Lutheran Church, and they were blessed to have celebrated 56 years of marriage. They raised two children, son David and daughter Ruth Ann. Together, they were foster parents for 10 years through Lutheran Child & Family Services. Kathy worked for Indianapolis Public Schools for 20 years. She and Ken were charter members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Indianapolis. They both were deeply devoted to the church and were known for their kindness and willingness to always lend a hand to all those who crossed paths with them. Kathy enjoyed singing in the Holy Cross choir, traveling and reading. She will be remembered for her wisdom, strength, humility and absolute trust in the Lord, as well as her love for Skyline Chili 5-Ways and White Castle sliders. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Ann Weir; grandsons, Christopher Jones, James Weir, Jr., and Jordan Weir; as well as her sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and family and loved ones. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son David, and her brother, Harold L. Broadfoot. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, with the service immediately following at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Concordia Cemetery, next to her son and beloved husband.
