Judith Marianne Mischler McAree

Judith Maryanne MischlerMcAree,71, of Fishers, passed away January 8, 2008. She was born August 12, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA to William and Rita Hurley Mischler, who have preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, and attended the Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing. On September 29, 1956, Judy married Dr. Francis E. McAree, Jr., and began their loving and joyful 51-year marriage. Throughout their marrige, Judy was a devoted volunteer with numerous religious, civic and medical organizations, including 25 years with the Ruth Lilly Hospice of Clarion, the St. Augustine Home for the Little Sisters of the Poor, the Missionary Sisters of Charity, and the Gennesaret Free Clinic for the Homeless in Indianapolis, the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and medical service organizations in Belize and Ecuador. Judy was an Eucharistic Minister at the Church of the Holy Spirit at Geist and was honored to become invested as a Dame of the Knights of Malta, with which she accompanied malades on pilgrimages to Lourdes, France. Judy's greatest source of joy was the blessing of her children, Kevin, Julie and Laura, and her eight grandchildren, Emily Broas, Allison Broas, Madeline Broas, Graham McAree, Gabrielle McAree, Cedric McAree, Ciara McAree and Marcella McAree. There could not have been a more loving mother and grandmother. She also derived great happiness from the company and kindnesses of her many beloved friends. Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Francis, her children, Dr. Kevin McAree and Julie Broas, her grandchildren, and her siblings, Margaret Feil, Joan Storey, Patricia Pryzwara, William Mischler, Maureen Wexler, and Joseph Mischler. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 13, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m., at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 14, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ruth Lilly Hospice of Clarian, the St. Augustine Home for the Little Sisters of the Poor, or the Missionary Sisters of Charity.
