Jeanetta B. (Eagan) East

Jeanetta B. (Eagan) East, 58, of Greenwood, received her miracle healing November 7, 2016, as she was received into the hands of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a five year battle with ovarian cancer. Jeanetta traversed this long journey with strength, dignity, grace, and a Godly spirit inspiring others who face challenges. She was born in Indianapolis, July 9, 1958 and was a long time member of Calvary Tabernacle, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She last worked at Mount Auburn Daycare where she worked with many children and was known by all of the children as “Miss Jeanetta”. Many times when out in public, she would be surprised with a hug around the leg by a little one, “Hi Miss Jeanetta”. She loved working with children and the kids loved her. Jeanetta leaves behind her devoted and loving husband of 36 years, Michael L. “Mick” East; her two loving children, Andrea Stipp (Trayton) and Rev. Cliff East (Sheena); seven and soon to be eight grandchildren who were the light of her life, Mackenzie, Maci, Mattie, Ross, Maclayne, Ronin, and Bronxton; her parents, Charles and Jane Eagan; and her siblings, Charla Key, Randy Eagan (Nancy), Dana Hazel (Jim), Dawn Douglas (Carl), and Laura Gore (Danny); many nieces and nephews and scores of friends and relatives who she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her sister, Pam Eagan; brother, Dwight Eagan; and brother-in-law, Jerry Key. Visitation will be Friday, November 11, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of her home-going service at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Tabernacle, 902 Fletcher Ave., Indianapolis, IN. Interment will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, IN. The family would like to thank Dr. Don Duggan, Dr. Mary Lou Mayer and the fourth floor oncology nurses and techs at St. Francis and Community South hospitals, as well as the great nursing team at the Community South Cancer Center, and finally the Community Hospital Hospice team, for their great care and love for Jeanetta. Jeanetta would testify to the fact that through this journey, God was faithful and God was good…ALL the time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Calvary Christian School, 3639 S. Keystone, Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227.
