Jean Redwine Reynolds

83, died peacefully at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 30, 2009. Up until her stroke on July 22, she lived independently surrounded by her many loving friends and family. Jean was born June 9, 1926 in Indianapolis to parents, John B. and Grace Thomas Redwine. She was a graduate of Shortridge High School and Butler University (cum laude), where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. After graduation from Butler, Jean worked in public relations for Indiana Bell, assisted her husband, Richard Reynolds, D.D.S. with his dental practice, and raised their three children, Tom, Jill and Jim. She spent a lifetime contributing to the community through many organizations and was active in the Washington Township School�s Parent Teacher Association and Washington Township Republican Party. Jean was also a member of The Propylaeum, Stansfield Circle, Indianapolis Day Nursery Association, St. Margaret�s Hospital Guild, Woman�s Department Club, Contemporary Club, Jonathan Jennings Chapter of the Daughter�s of the American Revolution and Northminster Presbyterian Church. Formerly, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Alliance of the Indianapolis Museum of Arts as well as a member of Second Presbyterian Church and Meridian Hills Country Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, John B. and Grace Thomas Redwine; sister, Ann Yockey; and husband, Dr. Richard Reynolds. She is survived by her children, Thomas Todd Reynolds, Jill Brittian Reynolds of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and James Richard Reynolds; grandson, Evan Thomas Reynolds; and a lifetime of loving friends, many since elementary school, who treasured her cheerful and giving personality through the decades. She will truly be missed. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Rd. Memorial services will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Teri Thomas presiding. The family would like to thank the staffs of St. Vincent Hospital and St. Vincent Hospice for their loving care of Jean and the support they gave the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis Propylaeum, Mu Chapter (Butler) of Kappa Kappa Gamma and St. Vincent Hospice.
