Dr. Robert J. Stark

79, of Indianapolis, passed away January 24, 2012. He was born March 5, 1932 to the late Dr. William J. and Helen Daily Stark. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Bob was a graduate of St. Joan of Arc Catholic School and Cathedral High School. He earned his undergraduate and Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Indiana University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. He was a Lieutenant (dental corps) Reserve Officer in the United States Navy. Bob married Judith Reynolds, his wife of 49 years, June 19, 1954. He began his private dental practice in 1957, retiring after 40 plus years. He was a member of Highland Country Club, Indianapolis Athletic Club, American Dental Association, Cathedral Alumni, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and St. Luke Catholic Church. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid golfer. He maintained a low handicap even in his later years and shot better than his age at 77. He also enjoyed the annual Thanksgiving shooting competition with his children and grandchildren. He was generally on the winning team. Bob�s greatest love of all was his family. Visitation will be Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Rd., Fishers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4217 N. Central Ave., Indianapolis. Bob is survived by his loving children and grandchildren, R. Joseph Stark (Janet), Sandy Wainscott (Jon), Kelly Park (Paul), Kimberly Stark, James P. Stark (Connie), Katie Stark, Molly Campbell (Noll), Patrick & Jessica Stark, Ethan & Trevor Berridge, Thomas M. Stark (Maureen), Matt Stark (Christina), Stephanie Engler (Eric), TJ & Bridget Stark, Mary Gorgol (Mike), Chris Burchard, Colleen & Rachel Gorgol, Michael W. Stark, Leslie Stark, and Timothy S. Stark (Michelle), Mackenzie, Steven & Collin Stark; five great-grandchildren, Henry Stark, Hannah Stark, Jacob Engler, Carter Engler, and Kennedy Wainscott; and his and man�s best friend, Chipper. Bob�s wife, Judith Stark, preceded him in death in 2003. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bud Stark of La Jolla, CA, and Jack Stark of Dallas, TX; and sister, Patty Schneiders of Indianapolis, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Cathedral High School and/or St. Vincent�s Hospice.
