Rev. Don H. Polston, Rev. Don H. Polston went to his eternal reward on January 22, 2014. One of his treating physicians commented, “…this world is a better place because this man lived.” His life and ministry brought countless numbers to Christ across the United States and the world. Together with his beloved wife, Ruth Ann pastored for over 55 years, including time in Indiana, Texas, and lastly in Waterloo, Iowa where they served for 30 years at Sunnyside Temple Wesleyan. Always passionate crusaders for revival, that seed of revival continues there to this day. Their combined passion for Christ, attended by love, has yielded many converts and workers around the world. After retiring from the full-time pastorate in Waterloo, they moved to Indianapolis where a new fruitful revival center was birthed, where nearly 1500 lives were impacted. His Internet ministry, The Life That Wins, Inc. reached 44 countries and sponsored his authorship of 30 books, and will continue to reach the lost and enable winning truth for years to come. His partner in ministry, Ruth Ann will continue to carry the torch as Don watches from heaven. After a serious fall in September, followed by many complications, he has now stepped into the arms of God. Besides his wife Ruth Ann, he is survived by an adoring family; son Stephen and daughter-in-law Jean reside in Minneapolis, with their daughters, Kelly Bollinger and Jessica Polston; Kelly is married to Greg Bollinger; their daughter, Quinn is the newest great grandchild. Daughter Ann and son-in-law Rick reside in Scottsdale, Arizona. Their son Caleb, his wife Rachael and two other great grandchildren Levi and Rosalyn live in Costa Mesa, California; daughter Tori is married to Kevin Funkhouser and they reside in Boulder, Colorado. The family wants to publicly thank all the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who served him and his family with devotion, caring and attention; and of course, to all those who are a part of our church family that have been so dear to us for over the last 6 decades. We invite you to celebrate with us, “The Life That Won!” A funeral will be held at Trinity Wesleyan Church, 9709 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM. A viewing will take place at Shirley Brothers Mortuary from 4-8 PM, Friday, January 31, 2014. A memorial will also be held in Waterloo, Iowa, on February 22, 2014, at Cedar Valley Community Church, 3520 Ansborough Avenue, at 3:00 PM.
