Byron C. Bayne

66, of Indianapolis, passed away on Palm Sunday, March 24, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Charles F. Bayne and Luella Bayne, and brother, Fredrick C. Bayne, all of Indianapolis. Byron is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Dianne Bayne; and his sister, Barbara Zander, also from Indianapolis. Byron�s legacy will live on through his three children, Lisa D. Suda, Brett A. Bayne and Lindsay D. Bayne; and his five grandchildren, Marley, Madylin, Olivia, Alexandra and Juliette, whom he loved so much. Byron was a graduate and athlete at Thomas Carr Howe High School Class of 1964. He then graduated from Butler University Class of 1968 and Officer Candidate School in Ft. Benning, Georgia Class of 1969. In May of 1969, after completing Officer Training School, Airborne Training, he graduated as 1st Lieutenant, then served in Korea as Platoon Leader, Company A, 1st Battalion, 31st Infantry and Adjutant in the 7th Infantry Division of the United States Army. He was awarded accolades and The Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service in Korea from July 31, 1969 through August 26, 1970 by H.G. Moore General U.S. Army. Upon his retirement from the U.S. Army, Byron returned to his wife in Indianapolis and joined E.H. Hamilton Trucking in 1972. Buddy dedicated his professional career to the success of this family business for over 41 years. He led the company as the President and acting C.E.O. until his death. His passions were many � he was an avid reader, outdoorsman and traveler. He loved learning, restoration of classic cars, but most importantly, building places and experiences for his friends and family to enjoy life, which he did. He made the most of every single day of his life. His family and friends loved him deeply and will miss his abundant love, quick wit, amazing sense of humor, loyalty and generosity. To honor Byron�s wish that the memorial service be a celebration of life, we invite friends and family to the memorial service at Oak Hill Mansion, 5801 E. 116th st., Carmel, Indiana on Friday, March 29, 2013, at 3:30 p.m., followed by an open memorial visitation from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to veterans and their families at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org or International Myeloma Foundation at http://online.myeloma.org.
