Audrey Murphy

76, of South Sioux City, NE, passed away on January 4, 2012. She had resided at the Sunrise Assisted Living Home in Carmel, IN, since October 2010. Audrey was born on January 29, 1935 in Danbury, IA, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Reimer. Her family moved to Sioux City, IA, when Audrey was a teen, and she graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in 1952. After being away from the area for several years, she returned to Sioux City in the mid 60�s, and then to South Sioux City in 1975. Audrey was a devout Catholic and was active in the church. She was an avid reader and on the board at the South Sioux City Public Library and she loved completing a daily crossword puzzle. Audrey was active with her senior group and enjoyed yard work, bowling, playing cards, line dancing, following Nebraska football, and traveling. She will always be remembered for her homemade cookies. Audrey is survived by six children, Daniel Doyle (Eileen), Michelle Komar (John), Marie Lowe (Scott), Cindy Wadelton (Tom), Kevin Murphy (Marjorie), and Kelly Murphy (Mindy). She cherished her 10 grandchildren, Katelyn, Kristin, and Jonathan Komar; Taralyn, Christina and Tommy Wadelton; Nathan and Matthew Lowe; Olivia Murphy; and Chase Murphy. She is also survived by one brother, Dean Reimer, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Victoria Marie; and three siblings, Dorothy, Marvin and Donald. Two Memorial Services will be held. The first will be today, Friday, January 6, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Indianapolis, IN, with Father Chris Wadelton officiating. The second will be on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael�s Church, 1405 First Ave., South Sioux City, NE, with Father James DeAnda officiating. A private family burial will be held at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Audrey�s name to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org), Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure (www.komen.org), or The South Sioux City Public Library (www.southsiouxcity.org/library).
