Sharon Frances Cazzell

Sharon Frances Cazzell 84, of Greenwood, passed away March 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. She was born April 28, 1939, in Bicknell, IN, to the late George and Martha Cazzell. She loved her parents immensely and spent much of her adult life with her mother, who she considered the best of friends. Her parents moved to Indianapolis in 1947 where Sharon remained most of her life. Sharon graduated from Warren Central High School, Class of 1957. She developed her love of art and artistic abilities at a young age, earning awards during her school years for her works. Sharon cared for her children at home and then started as a bus driver in 1969 for the Metropolitan School District of Warren Township. She particularly liked driving her kids to their various school sporting events. Sharon also parlayed her driving skills into limo driving with Dynasty Limousine Service for several years and had many stories to tell. In the last years of her career, she moved up to the Executive Assistant of Warren Transportation and retired after 32 years of service. Sharon loved spending time with her family and friends and cooking delicious meals and treats for them. Her flower garden was a great source of pride and joy. She spent many serene moments on her porch enjoying her flowers, birds, and pond. Sharon was an accomplished oil painter and delighted in giving her paintings to friends and family as well as beautifully crocheted blankets. She worked with her adored dog, Holly, providing Dog Therapy services to patients at Community Hospital East. She also assisted her elderly neighbors driving them to appointments and providing companionship. Sharon was known for her happy laughter and wicked sense of humor. And regardless of the amount of time you were with her, one hour or a lifetime, she most likely impacted you in some way. She was an excellent conversationalist and loved telling funny stories, especially about limo driving. She was highly intelligent with a deep thirst for knowledge and was an avid reader. She always said Google was her friend. Sharon was the best mother and grandma/Gigi. She loved her children so much and they her. We could not have asked for a better mother, Mom. We love you!!! Visitation will be Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 East Washington Street. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery. Sharon is survived by her children, Brian A. Myers (Karen), Tracy J. Venable (David), and Gary L. Myers; grandchildren, Michelle N. Morgan (Erick), Kerry M. Carr (Connor), Ben C. Myers, and Casey N. Venable; two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Fitz; sister, Sandy Nicely (Mike), and brother, Gary Cazzell (Shelley). The family would like to thank the Community Hospice caregivers for their nearly two years of love, support and service to Sharon and her family. Memorial contributions can be made to Community Home Health Hospice.
