Charles G. Ashlock 67, Indianapolis, passed away March 6, 2010 after an extended illness. He was born November 10, 1942, in Elizabethtown, KY to Leslie and Ruby M. Bewley Ashlock, who have preceded him in death. Charlie served four years in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Heritage Environmental as a HazMat driver for 10 years, retiring in 1999. Charlie married Pamela J. Compton, July 27, 1988. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel, 3333 E. Thompson Road, with funeral services Thursday, at 1:00 p.m. Charlie will be sadly missed by his devoted wife of 21 years, Pamela J. Ashlock; his loving daughters, Rena M. Carrillo, Samantha J. Fitzgerald, Joani R. Griffith; 10 grandchildren, David, Carina, Jose, Xavier, Kaleb, Jacob, Lucas, Ryleigh, Trisha, and Shelley; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Priscilla Rieboldt, Shirley Thurman and Denise Matthews; and two brothers, D.L. Ashlock and Ewell Ashlock. Two sisters, Bonnie Hensley and Laverne Woody; and a brother, Michael Ashlock, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ruth Lilly Hospice or to the James Whitcomb Riley Children’s Hospital.
