James A. Powell 57, of Leesburg, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away March 5, 2010. He was born November 17, 1952 in Indianapolis to the late James Arthur and Bertha F. Sabotin Powell. Jim was a graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School, Class of 1970 and earned a B.S. in Engineering from Purdue University. He was a self-employed engineer, retiring in 2008 and a member of the Warsaw Elks Lodge. Visitation will be held Monday, March 8, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, 5377 E. Washington St., with funeral services Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Jim will be greatly missed by loving daughters, Kathleen Renae Cavanaugh, Devon R. McIntyre (Troy), Danielle C. Powell; stepson, Paul J. McQueen; grandchildren, Erica, Justin, Jacob, Lauren, Olivia and Clara; sister, Sally L. Powell; his devoted life partner, Linda C. McQueen, and his pals, Buddy and Ellie. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
