Morton “Windell” Mitchell 71, of Indianapolis, passed away March 4, 2010. He was born June 27, 1938 in Scottsville, KY to the late Morton R. and Laura Emery Mitchell. Windell previously worked for Bridgeport Brass then for Bob Jones University and retired from Warren Township Schools in 1990. Windell was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St., with funeral services Monday at 10:00 a.m. Windell is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice; children, Dawn (Vance) Donahue, Spring McCollum, Kevin (Elidia) Mitchell, Robin (Phil) Collins and Melody Greear; sister, Linda Jarvis; brothers, Van, Glen, Ed and Terry Mitchell; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joel Mitchell.
